Rationale: The supplemental components of the Everyday Math Program support the new Common Core Standards in Mathematics. During the 2010-2011 school year, the teaching staff at Alfred Vail identified the need to implement the supplemental techniques and strategies to achieve maximum implementation of the Everyday Math Program. As a result of a finer level of implementation there will be a greater level of achievement measured by the End-of-the-Year Math assessment in the 2011-2012 school year. |

| Challenge Objective: Between September 2011 and June 2012, the students of Alfred Vail School will recognize the difference between bullying and normal conflict through the implementation of the NJ State Bar Foundation Bully-Busting Curriculum. By being proactive and implementing the Bully-Busting Curriculum, in conjunction with a philosophical approach toward bullying, the staff at Alfred Vail School intends to decrease the incidences of reported bullying by 20%. | ||||

This will be accomplished by consistently implementing the six essential lessons from the Bully-Busting Curriculum and creating a culture of respect and tolerance for all. | |||
