Alfred Vail HSA Meeting Minutes

Call to Order:  10:12 AM

Approval Of H.S.A. May Minutes

Principal’s Update:  Dr. Barber

·        What a wonderful school year we had everything flowed so nicely.  Dr. Barber, the staff and the students appreciate the time and effort all the parents have made to help our school be it’s very best.  Dr. Barber gave a sincere thanks to the board for getting the job done.  She read a heart felt poem to them for their dedication.

·        The Staff thanked all the volunteers by holding a brunch after the meeting to show their appreciation.

Presidents Report:  Glenn Kirsinger

·        Glenn thanked the board and all the volunteers for a great and successful school year.

·        A reminder about the upcoming Golf Fundraiser this Spring.  Any questions please do not hesitate to contact Glenn over the summer.

·        May Transaction Report

o       Income in the following items:

§        Basket Raffle: $1,041.50

§        Book Fair: netted $2,182.21 after payment of invoice

§        Box Tops: $409.90

§        Playground –recent donations totaled $4,392.04 ( includes $3,500       

§        From AT&T Pioneers)

§        School Spirit: $175.00

§        Expenses in the following items:

§        Admin: $301.91

§        Basket Raffle: $269.00

§        Cultural Arts Fund: $ 875.00

·        Vote on playground equipment to be purchased for installation on Alfred Vail School grounds all monies need to be transferred from savings to checking immediately and then savings account needs to be closed.  Total amount transferred is $31,305.70.  Motion Approved

·        Vote on anticipation of basket raffle income:  We need to make some projections on possibly designating some of the funds from Basket Raffle for the playground fund.  Motion Approved

·        Proposed Budget for 2008/2009:

o       New fundraiser- Fall 08 Golf Outing

o       Classroom funds- The H.S.A. treasurer proposes to lower the amount          

o       Each teacher gets to $50.00 rather then $100.00.

o       Administrative line item- This amount reflects quite a large increase due to the following items that should be kept in mind each year. 

§        H.S.A. will now be purchasing a yearly insurance policy

§        And bonding for the treasurer.

§        Purchase of computer program Quicken for new treasurer.

§        Various annual and biannual licensing fees.

§        Annual project graduation fund expenses.

§        Other items (mail and state filing fees)
